Sabotage & Dialogue Productions is a multimedia production company based in the Pacific Northwest. Our offices and base of operation are in the much maligned (but very film friendly) city of Tacoma, Washington.
Sabotage & Dialogue Productions offer full production services for your media project, from development to final screening. We are a team of professionals with a background in film, budgeting, scheduling, and project management. We've logged hundreds of days on set and bring a wealth of experience and expertise to the table.
We have excellent crew and vendor relationships and are proud of our professional reputation in our local community.
We're plain spoken, strict on the budget, straight shooting, and hard working. We believe that art comes from the discipline of practicing your craft with precision and pride.
-S&D
Filmmakers make films. We start out as Production Assistants on set, or writers, we hang around crafty, we go to mixers, we do runs, we slog through the mud, we go to festivals, we watch experimental films, we make stuff on micro budgets and run Kickstarter campaigns to get our friends and family to help us make our next short film. We provide production services for all kinds of people: writers, directors, students.
Maybe you are a small business and you'd love to add some zing to your site. Maybe your company is a non-profit or an arts organization and you'd love some web content. You may need a training video for your employees or volunteers. Or maybe you do want to make movies and you're ready to make your first short film. You have a nest egg, it's not much but it's something, and you think it's enough to make a start. It may even be more personal...you'd love to interview your grandmother so your children can someday watch their great-grandmother and hear her stories. Or you're taking a big life step. You've trained for the marathon and you want a little film about the journey that brought you to this point. There are all sorts of reasons to come to us. All of them are valid.
Sabotage & Dialogue was founded with the core believe that everyone has a story. As producers, we want to support you in telling the story you'd like to tell. We make indie films but our entire foundation comes from story telling and people who have stories to tell. We can support you at any point in your process.
The first thing we do is work with you to get your idea down on the page. We sit down with you, talk it through. Take notes. Look at samples of what you want the final product to look like. We work closely with you to hone your concept down to the specifics. This goes into a treatment, or a document that outlines the mood, characters, plot and overall vision of the piece. From the treatment we write a script, which serves as our blueprint for production.
From the script we can schedule and fine-tune our budget. The budget is based on a lot of factors: number of characters, location, length of final piece, special effects. From the script, our First Assistant Director will provide a professional breakdown. The breakdown outlines the number of shooting days you will need, and is a valuable document, as often you do not shoot in sequence. We can schedule according to your individual factors. Are you shooting at your working business so you will need it to all take place at night? We can budget that. Every cost is broken down in detail so you can expand or contract your budget as desired.
You can pay for our consulting services up to this point and you still do not need to employ us as your producers. You can then take your breakdown and script and use these tools to more accurately fundraise or pitch your project to obtain financing.
Depending on your needs and what your hopes for usage are we will discuss a range of possibilities for the technology we will use and what size of crew you will need to execute the script.
If you decide to use us as producers, we move into production. Working with our local crew and talent, we will walk you through the creative collaborative process. We will pair you with an experienced crew that will work from the breakdown and script. At every stage our Line Producer will keep you informed as to how each cost impacts your budget.
Then we shoot!
All footage will go to our editors. After they do an initial rough cut, you will be invited in to fine tune the cut and give final approvals. Depending on the type of project, soundtrack, credits and title design are decided upon. Your project is delivered to you in the format required. We thank you for your time and collaboration and part with a friendly handshake.
I started working in film and television while in college in New York City. Shortly after graduation I relocated to Los Angeles and eventually, resettled in the Pacific Northwest.
I founded Sabotage & Dialogue Productions in 2009 primarily as a consulting company for development. In 2013 I hung out my shingle as an indie producer.
I have a background in feature film development with a specialization in genre works such as horror, fantasy and speculative fiction. I also have extensive on set experience as a Producer and Assitant Director for feature film, commercials, television and New Media. A link to my IMDB is here.
A fancier, braggier bio could be written that would detail my prodigy childhood, my bohemian upbringing, oh! and the time I broke a world record. However none of that really pertains to what I do. It's just the sort of bio you're required to write to make people feel uncomfortable. I don't like making people feel uncomfortable.

and my love of collaboration has never faded. There are few things more satisfying as an artist and craftsperson than taking someone's character from the page into the world.
I am represented by Topo Swope Talent for television, film, New Media, and commercial work. My resume and headshot can be viewed here. I am a current member of SAG/AFTRA.
